This issue is slightly more challenging as 3 IT guys have been unable to fix it, but -
I use an Acer Aspire V, running on Windows 8. It is just a shade under 2 years old.

The first incident was that my laptop failed to recognize WiFi options on my laptop. I see that it could not find the driver at all. However, as I restarted my laptop a few times, it would suddenly work. I performed a system restore and it worked fine for a while. However, the problem would recur and I had to keep doing a system restore until that option no longer worked. In the middle, I tried to clear a lot of my clutter files thinking that I may have downloaded a virus.

After a week of failing at this, the laptop would have 1 of 2 problems:
a) It would not be able to identify a WiFi driver or WiFi options, OR
b) When the WiFi was identified, it would hang after roughly 10 minutes of use.

These two situations happened repeatedly over 10 days such that I figure that the laptop hanging is not a coincidence.

I've been recommended to -
a) Buy a external WiFi driver, which costs roughly $30
b) Dismantle the laptop myself and try to reconnect the Network drive and RAM
c) Go to the Acer shop, which would cost roughly $300

I'm thoroughly confused with what I should do, please do help if you can guide me!

Ok Let's check if any junk or adware cause this,

Fix with Junkware Removal Tool

1) Please download JRT by Thisisu and save the file to your desktop.
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.
2) Right-click on
icon and select
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
3) Follow the prompts and let this process run uninterrupted.
4) This scan can take a while, depending on your System specs.
5) Upon completion, a log (JRT.txt) will open on your desktop.
6) Please include the contents of that file in your reply.
7) Do not forget to re-enable your previously switched off protection software!
8) Please also manually reboot your machine after this procedure.

Fix with AdwCleaner

1) Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your desktop.
2) Right-click on
icon and select
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
3) The program will begin to update the database (if internet connection is operational). Please wait a little bit.
4) Follow the prompts and click Scan.
5) When finished, please click Clean.
6) Upon completion, click Report. A log (AdwCleaner[S*].txt) will open.
7) Please include the contents of that file in your reply.
