Hi - first post! i have a toshiba portege laptop - about 2 years old... has been good mostly but recent issues with the touchpad... sometimes its fine but then the pointer develops a complete mind of its own veering off into one corner or another never to be seen again. turning off and on makes no difference one way or the other. control panel checks say everything is working fine which it patently isn't! any help/advice gratefully accepted.. my mind is working on an actual mechanical touchpad problem but i guess it could be software?

Probably the only solution is to use an external USB mouse.
