Dropped laptop says No Bootable Devise

Help! While I was using my friend's Acer laptop the table toppled over and the laptop fell to the floor. When I try turn it back on, the message on the screen says, "No Bootable Device".
Is this something that can be repaired? Is it worth repairing? Do I owe someone a new laptop?

Yes it can be repaired, the HD is probably dislocated.
