Hello,
I have DELL INSPIRON 1440 laptop. When I pressed power button it is not showing sign of starting. Pls guide me steps to check the problem.

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
