Black desktop, applications still running

Hello,

I was trying to make a new document, so i right-clicked, and hovered over New, and then the laptop crashed. Now it has a black screen, except for a file explorer. I used task manager to open up some apps and it works fine, but this is really freaking me out, as I don't have a taskbar or desktop
