Hi Solomonsenja,
Connect your external drive and run the Command Prompt as an Administrator. Type the following command:
Diskpart
List Disk
Select disk n (n must be the drive number)
Attributes disk clear readonly
Exit
This way you should be able to clean the write protection. Open Disk Management and try to format the drive.
