It sounds like your account might have been suspended. What does facebook say about it. Be patient! We can play the scale game if you wish to find out how long you will need to wait.
What is 1% of 2 Billion? What is .1% of 2 billion?
If each problem takes at least 15 minutes to fix, how long would it take to fix .1% of users problems? (lets say they have 100 people working around the clock, so 1500 minutes of work can be accomplished in 15 minutes!)

Thank you for the easy question. The Facebook server is presently down in some parts of the USA, if you live in the USA, you must way for the server to be put back on line, it could take as long as 18 hours.
As a precaution, before you try to login again, delete all of your temporary files and cookies or you may get the same message.
In the meantime, cultivate your patience...as they say, often in a woman seldom in a man.
