Im not sure which genertation my ipod nano is.. but it randomly turned off as well and i couldn't get it to work. I didn't drop it, or get it wet, it just turned off. I tried charging it, plugging it into the computer but nothing worked.
I looked through websites to help, and i found one thing that worked!!
Just hold the center button and the menu button just above it. Hold for a few seconds, or until it turns on (i held it for over 6 seconds). The apple icon should pop up, and it'll start working again. Hope this helps!
