Seagate® External Desktop 500GB with a Mac?!

Hi can you use a Seagate® External Desktop 500-GB Drive with a Mac?!
The icon appears on the desktop but when I try to drag any files into it, it says that "the item cannot be moved because the expansion drive cannot be modified" Is there some software I need to download or formatting I need to do on this external drive? Please help!

If you want to share the drive with a PC. You might need to format the hard drive using FAT32 since the Mac does not understand NTFS disk formatting.

If you don't need to share the drive. Then you can format it to work with the Mac. The Seagate Web site should have instructions.
