Corrupted and unreadable

Hello,




External hard drive
Is not working and it is displaying the message corrupted and unreadable.
I tried long time to solve it and finally formatted it so can u help me solve both the problems 1. Corrupted message
2. To restore lost files for free.

OK, so if you can get to a dos prompt, run CHKDSK /f
Give that a try!
