My acer aspire v5 laptop regularly fails to boot up. Help!!

I think the problem has been resolved. Have had no problems for the last 2 days. Fingers crossed.

can you please explain your issue further regarding when the problem start happening? At which point it cause issue? Eg. after windows logo appear or not even enter into windows?

Sometimes it will not start up at all. Other times it starts up ok. Seems to start better (but far from perfect) when mains power is plugged in. I've done a factory reset but that didn't help.

startup you mean for windows booting right? whether it is slow? If yes then recently did you install any new hardware or software?

Some times even the acer logo doesn't show and all you get is a blank screen. Occasionally it is slow but more often it will either start up ok or not at all. I think problem may have started after I went to Windows 10 but not sure. I am back to Window 8 now.

Ok, Switch off the laptop
Remove the battery
Remove RAM from the slots(if you have 2 RAM remove both)
Press power button for 30 sec
Reseat the RAM again(only one at one slot)
Reseat the battery
switch on the laptop

Ok. Thanks for that. I'll need to wait for my son to do it tomorrow as I've got no idea. Thanks for the advice.
