Acer laptop won't start

Help! My Acer laptop won't start. I plug the power and the blue light for battery is on. I press the start button et nothimg happens: no fan, no noise, nothing! I see the light indicator, left to battery indicator and light when clicking the start button. That's it!

I tried to remove the battery and put it back- no luck.
My son has school term documents ; no backup! Help please!

switch off your laptop
Remove the battery
press power button for 30 sec
Reseat the battery again
switch on the laptop

Did instructions. Laptop is starting, but only fan, can open dvd. Black screen, bios doesn't seem to start..

After a few tries to start the Laptop the Bios finally started and able to backup my data and work.

I'm also having the same problem,I've tried your instructions,I could turn on my system once.But now I'm not able to turn on my system again,even after following your instructions.Please help me out.If my system get's turned on at least for once ,I'll copy all the important data
