Hi Haroon,
Please check if the hard drive appears in Disk Management. Does it have file format and a drive letter? If there is no information about the drive, open Device Manager, find the drive and uninstall it. Restart the PC and reconnect the device.
If the drive has a drive letter, run the Command Prompt and type:
Chkdsk L: /r
Replace L with the drive’s drive letter. Wait for the process to end and check again. I strongly recommend you to test the drive on another PC and with another USB cable. I suggest you to download a data recovery tool and to try recovering the most important files. Check the link below for some software suggestions:
