Win.xp.sp3 computer no sound Closed

Question

win.xp.sp3 computer got no sound after reinstalling ,however device mgr.
show no exlamation marks next to sound,controlers,there is no yellow warning
marks,that tells everything is ok as devic mgr concerned.now me query..
q: when troubleshooting sound driver-(realtek 97 or so)shows working proper-
    ly,can't updated to better ,but no sound
q: if try to install other driver computer stalls-not adaptable
q: before (virus-reinstall win.xp..)same sound driver-realtec,works,soun ok
q: lost original cd-reinstall thru computer shop
ps. what can be done to get sound back on ?

How strange!

Are you certain that you have reinstalled XP2 before reinstalling XP3?  XP2 was a prerequisite to XP3.

Have you installed these sound drivers ?

Get them now because they are as rare as a pope's nose.  

XP is no longer supported and finding stuff for XP is getting extremely difficult, no a days XP is a zombie. (Also very unsafe)
