Hello,
I hope you can help me, I wanted to reset my computer back to factory settings, did fn-ctrl-F11, screen came back with error message missing configuration., I do not have the original cds, which it said to insert and at screen press "R"..we moved and don't know which box its in, tried downloading my Windows XP from my other laptop to my USB, it didnt work. it keeps restarting by itself to black screen/freezes. I went to reset the memory cards , then powered up, blinked then, won't power up. removed battery, memory card, still the same..
Did I lose all my files on the laptop by doing this? How can I fix it.. I have no 'original' cd set up for my computer.
thanx....

Have you check out all the connections ( power supply or battery slot). Well the first step is to determine whether its a Hardware or Software problem.

Better find out your cd pack, i don't think that your HDD is damaged. The letter R stands for Repair when using XP recovery console..Do you possess a Windowa XP Cd?

We do have it somewhere, if we found the cd, do you think it will work? Would my files still be on laptop?
