Windows Installer calls up Office 2000 I want 2016

I originally had Windows Vista and Office 2000 in my home computer. I later installed Windows 10, Whenever I try to instal programs I get the message Windows installer is accessing Word 2000. How can I change this to Word 2016. Not too technical please, I'm 10 weeks away from 89

Well have you paid for 2016? Just because you have 10, doesn't give you a new suite of office.

I don't want a new suite of Office. All I need is for Windows Installer] to stop calling up Office 2000 while it is running. I only had Office 2000 when I installed Windows 10. Now I also have Office 2016 and I want to keep both because Office2000 has not lost the scanning facilities which have happened in later versions of. Apologies for my delay in replying.
