Earphone mute all the sounds

Hello,
im having problems with my earphone connections to my laptop. whenever i connect the earphones to my laptop it happens to mute all the sounds and i have tried everything i can but it didnt work. i have updated gthe driver and so on. but still i couldnt find the way out. do help me please hmm

What type of earbuds are they? Did they come with your phone? Try a different pair that isn't intended to be used with a phone. a PC headphone does not have a connection for a MIC, the phone earbuds do, so they are not aligned right in the jack!
