IE wont connect to internet but aol connects Closed

Hello,
my internet explorer will not connect to the internet or allow any programs to connect for updates etc but i can connnect using aol without any problems. i have tried running the diagnostic but it cant find a problem i have also updated internet explorer direct from microsoft but this hasnt made a difference. can you please help

try to setup the connection again.
>control panell
>network connection
>create a new connection
then follow the setup wizard to create the connection.

if you had installed Norton antivirus and had uninstalled it, it can be the cause of your problem. please download Norton Removal Tool from www.sofpedia.com for example and run it; it will solve your issue. Good luck.
