Symbol characters problem

Hello,
I have a laptop Aspire E35-575G. My problem is, that the password I use contains the symbols # and @, which suddently can no longer be submitted for the password. Hence I cannot start my laptop.
I have tried to use a separate USB keyboard, however to no avail. Just no longer works.
I would be happy ifsomebody could help and advise.

To type # type alt + 35

To type @ type alt + 64

Then check if you have the correct keyboard language.

Hi Ambucias,

Thank you for your hint, which in my case did not work. Following your advice re keyboard, I found that my laptop switches keyboard language which, I do not why, does not recognize the tab combination.
