Hi Akshay,
I would suggest you to first log into your account and then go on this link. You will have to click on the Edit (pen) icon. The Gmail will ask you to feed the login details again. After successfully submitting the information, it will allow you to change the phone number.

Login to Gmail :
1. Go to Settings and then select accounts and scroll down to Change Account Settings.
2. Go to Change password recovery options in the 'Account recovery' section.
3. Click Edit next to the mobile phone number and simply edit the number
4. Click Save to make your changes.
