About a few months ago, my 14-an012nr Windows 10 HP laptop stopped working. One day, I was using it, and then it just turned off; wouldn't turn back on. I was busy with school at the time, so I didn't really worry about it, I got a new one a few months later. Now, I'm coming back to it trying to figure out why the screen won't turn on. The fan runs, but that's pretty much it.

I've tried draining the power from the laptop and that didn't work. I've also tried restoring the BIOS, but the screen wouldn't come on for that. The only difference in the screen after I press the power button is that the screen goes from black to a lighter, green-ish color.

I've noticed that when the computer is plugged up and the battery is in, the LED light for the charger is and orange color, but when I take the battery out, it's white. I don't know if that means that my battery could be the problem here or not.

System Configuration: Windows / Chrome 70.0.3538.102

Hi Re6ellion,

Have you tried the Fn+F5 key sequence?

If possible, you should either try your monitor on another PC or try your PC with another LCD monitor in order to know which one is faulty =)

If this is a true HP (no details in problem description), F10 will boot into bios, NOT FN+F5. See if your BIOS screen paints. If so, then post back, and we will go to the next step!
