MAC OS X No mail preference, but no mail Plist to erase

I have followed the procedure to resolve the blank mail preferences, however, there is no Com.apple.mail.plist to erase.

I have done exactly as suggested, it has made no difference the preference mail preference General is still empty.

Try to find it in:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Library/Preferences

Hi,

"com.apple.mail.plist" is located in a hidden folder. Open Finder and select Go from the menu bar. Hold down the alt key and the Library folder will appear. Then in Preferences, you can deleted the file.
