Reduce PDF Size - Specify how small?

Hello,

I figured out the ColorSync reduce progress which took my 14 MB file down to 300KB or so. The picture quality suffered quite dramatically. I'm only looking to shrink the file to the 3-5MB range. Is there any way to tell the comp smaller but not *that* small?
