My samsung u600 usb wont work!! :S

Hii, i have a samsung u600 and i have loadds of pics i need to get onto my laptop! but u see when i plug my usb into my acer laptop it just says usb not identified or something like that, my point is that i can't seem to get my pics onto the laptop so if anyone knows anything that i may be doing rong please tell me in a message back, and please could someone explain what is going on ? :D thankyou a millon everyone cheers from moo :D
