Deleting a WhatsApp chat

Hello,

What happens if I delete a whatsapp chat in which the last message that I sent had 1 tick (sent but not yet delivered at the receiver) and I deleted the chat almost immediately after sending the message (in less than 68 minutes)? Will the receiver still get the message? Or will he get the message “message deleted”, or will he get nothing at all? Thank you for the answer!

Hi,

Yes - the recipient will receive it. One tick means that your message has been successfully sent on WhatsApp's servers, but it is not yet delivered to the recipient's phone. So, even if you delete the chat, this will not prevent the message from being delivered.

If you wanted to avoid that message from being delivered, you should have made a long press on the message and selected "Delete for Everyone".
