USB2.0HDD EXTERNAL CASE

Hello,

I have a Portable Hard Disk with tecnology SAMSUNG. I have saved one milion information in this box including docs and pictures very important to me.
Unfortunately, i miss the access to this hardware. I plugin the USB cable in my POSITIVO laptop[POSITIVO is a brazilian nationaly brand] with windows XP but he not read the HD, although the sistem identify a new hardware conected in the notebook.
Exist the way that i head the informations in the portable HD when similar error happen?

Have you tested your HD on another PC. Its the logical step, to determine if the problem comes from your HD or your laptop

Thanks for your answer!
I make a test in others pc and laptops but without success.
The whirligig´s HD do not "discharge"...the led is alight but not blink!
