My sims won't work

Hello, I have an acer laptop and the game sims 2 bon voyage and sims 2 seasons, I installed the game onto my laptop and when that was all done, I started playing it and it was excelent. But then when I got onto create a family, it crashed and it would not respond, so I escaped out of it and closed it. I tried again and again, and it still crashed, so i restarted my computer and it still wouldnt go. I tried again after a couple of days but still no sign of responding. I asked my dad to install lots and lots of things for my sims 2 work but it just wont work and i defently no its not the game, its the computer ! Okeaseanswer my question why it would not work please.
