Toshiba satellite dead? Screen is white/Lines

Hello,
My toshiba satellite was unable to install a recovery disk for the hard drive, it would come up with a fc12 error.
So i attempted to fix it by going to the hdd recovery on the hard drive, by hitting 0 a lot.
It said windows was loading files, and then it gave me another error.

A windows boot manger error and an I/O error, it says it has encounterd a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

STATUS 0xC00000e9
INFO- An unexpected I/O error has occurerd

I am running vista, any idea what I can do to reclaim my computer?
