My laptop turned off,and wont turn back on.

Hello,
I have an acer 6935 g which was working perfectly but now all of a sudden when i was plugged in and using my notebook it turned off as if the power was cut off.i tried re-fixing the ac adepter but nothing happened, the battery charging light doesn't even come on and the notebook doesn't boot up.
the notebook also does not start when i am on battery power.

Can some one please tell me why this is happening?

(I do use a notebook cooler but most of the time i use my laptop on my bed with the notebook cooler on.)
