Hello connorako

Does your router have a dhcp server enable? if no, that mean that the laptops have to be configured manually, check if the new laptop have ip address and access to the default gateway when you connect them, are you using a wireless or cable connexion?

if you have access when pluging your cable, i guess the dhcp server is enable, if am not wrong, the problem is from Vista , its security is a bit high, do you use a secure connexion such as wep?, i think you dont, try using a secure connexion with a wep key

Normally when the network is detected a balloon pop up in the taskbar, click on it, and confirm it to connect, at that point it normally ask you to enter the key
