Hello,
I was having a problem with my monitor (its a compaq) so I replaced with a monitor (emachines) that I had. The monitor works fine but I have no sound. The old monitor had the speakers plug into it. The emachine has less powerful speakers but like the other hard drive I pluged the speakers into the hard drive where the are suppose to go. I still get no sound and am wondering what to do?

You didn't not properly configure your sound properties, if it's realtek you are using go in the properties and select the correct device and the number of channels.
