No sound and audio in control panel???

Hello,

I have no volume icon in my taskbar so followed the instructions i found on a question on here to get it back but...i have no 'sound and audio devices properties' in control panel.....i have sound from laptop but just can't alter it on the taskbar. I have a 'sound' button in control panel but its not the same thing, it does have a box i can tick to let me show volume on taskbar but it won't let me tick it, i'm presming this is because i dont have the sound and audio devices thing anymore...it used to be there.


Please help!!
