Linksys router firmware upgrade
Solved/Closed
I have a problem with my linksys router model BEFW11s4 and i think i have to update the firmware, but i downloaded it from the linksys website and its a .bin file and it doesnt let me unzip it.
I login to the router address but the admin tab does not have af irmware upgrade option so i cannot do that!
how should i do this?

You don't need to unzip anything. It's a binary file and that's what your router wants. Go to your router interface by typing "192.168.1.1" in your browser. For this model, I think firmware is under the "help" tab. Then click "upgrade firmware" and browse for the binary file you have downloaded.
If this doesn't take, you'll need to restore factory defaults and try it again.
Peace.

The new firmware, once installed, will place "firmware upgrade" under the "administration" menu, but older versions had it under the "help" menu.
Peace
