No internet wireless connection

Hello,
I am having trouble to connect internet wireless on my desktop with comcast able internet.
I have linksys wireless router and I have a belkin wireless usb adapter in my computer I can see the signal from the router but cannot connect with the internet. What is need to be done in order for me to connect with internet? I have wrt54g linksys router. Please anybody can help me out with the setup.
