Hello,
I'm trying to get my Vista Home Basic CD to load and it won't. I set my boot sequence to the CD drive first but all it says is Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure when I do it. I'm not sure if this is the right forum but hopefully it is.
Incase it's needed I have a Dell Dimension 4600, 1280mb RAM, Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.06Ghz.

You should turn off The diskette seek feature in the BIOS options. Good Luck

Ok I turned that off but it did nothing. I even tried putting a different Vista disk in. The light on the Disk Drive blinks like it's reading and the "_" on the screen blinks. After about 30 seconds it boots into XP.

I assume you have a DVD drive - since the Vista disk is a DVD and NOT a CD.

Ya, it's not DVD so now I see why it won't read it. Thanks for the help.
