msn messenger Closed

Hello,
my msn wont work every time i sign in it tells me their is an update.
i click to update but then it says it failed because of my internet explorer is not up to date 
How do i fix this problem?

Please carry out a virus scan to confirm if the problem is 

not being generated from a virus infection. Also check if the

Windows version that you are using is genuine.
