Chat not working

Hello,
My chat is not working on facebook. When I click on a friend they immediately go offline and when I am online my friends don't see me.

Dear Sir,

You should have selected the option to appear offline. Please

remove it and if the problem still continues, please contact

Facebook Support for them to fix it up.
