I need help with sims

Hello,
ok so the sims used to work on my toshiba but i got a virus and had
to delete everything. so when i tried to install it it kept stopping at 57%
I also tried it on my moms ( she has windows xp, i have vista) it still stopped.
i've already cleaned the cds and i've atempted installing them for 3 days now.
Can anyone help, im fed up!
