Dell Inspiron 2200 Not Working

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200. When it worked, when you moved the laptop; the charger would stop working, then if you moved it again, it would start working. it did this for a couple of weeks. One day, the charger completely stopped working, however the computer did carry on working for about 30 minutes. Soon after, the whole computer shut down and wouldn't turn on again. Tried what 'ticktacktoe' said, but did not work on mine...didn't do anything...please help!

plug in charger and leave it for 10 min and try to start again. if not then replace the charger. remove battary and insert again and then try
