Screen going blank at logon window

Hello,
i have a lenovo sl400 laptop and run both windows 7 and ubuntu 9.10
till yesterday my laptop was fine but today when i tried booting into windows, the screen went blank at the login screen but i could hear what was happening. safe mode is not working...its just stuck at the loading windows file screen
ubuntu is working fine
what do i do

Dear Sam,

Please check whether the problem is not sourcing

from faulty motherboard or RAM sticks.
