Windows cannot start normally

Hello,
as of now im using safe mode option on my pc(windows vista) because i cant start the windows normally,if i used the "start windows normally" the screen turn to black and just the pointer of the mouse is visible,pls help me to used and return to "start window normally" option..many tnx,ur help is highly appreciated
