Some programs are not working

Hello,
i think my laptop got affected with virus. when i try to open any program,eg: MS Word and all MS Office programs, a dialogue box opens like "windows installer- preparing to install. accessing the feature (with ok/cancel options). how to solve this problem? please provide some valuable suggestions.

thanks for replying. i am having MS Office 2007 installed on my laptop. so, will this link work with my query?

i have just one another problem....some times when i open a specific folder another dialogue box opens "windows Rundll 32 has stopped working". what's the possible solution for that?
