Hello,
My problem is simple:

On a recently purchased (less than one month) Dell M17x system running Windows 7, i am facing this problem:

Every alternate time, post the boot sequence, the system gets stuck while loading the OS (in this case win 7). I shut down the system (by keeping power button pressed) and the next time the system loads all the way and no problems there. Then I shut down the system and the next time I restart it, the same problem occurs (black screen freeze at OS loading time).

I have two 500mb HDD's in a striped configurtion.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi...I had this problem as well..after reformatting my disks, nothing happened. Had to have my motherboard replaced and now its fixed :/. Happen with the Alienware Bios A03. Dunno why. Flashed the new one to A05 immediately and no problems since. The old one was also flashed from A03 to A05 but thats when the problem occurred. GL.

This might be a shut-down problem rather than a start-up problem. Since it clears up after a forced shut down.

I would check the "Event Viewer" in "Computer Management" for any errors.

Good Luck

I have the exact same problem. Every other time it hangs on boot.

This has nothing to do with shut down because it will do it even when i am just coming in and out of bios, or a windows installation. Also using RAID 0 config.,
