Internet conection

Hello,
I bought a new conputer, I connected the ethernet cable but it doen't connect to internet. I have one single modem for tv, phone and internet(I have cox). In the network connection the picture appears with a little lock. How Can I get Internet? My new computer is a gateway E4300 desktop, I have tried almost everything help me please.

Cox must activate the internet connection.
