No sound on computer

Hello,
I am having trouble with my computer. First it got a virus or something and it shut down. I couldnt reboot it, so it was wiped clean and windows xp was reinstalled. Now I have no sound. I have checked and it says there is no driver present, but when I check the actual driver it says it is running properly. I have updated it, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, I even went to the website of the manufacturer and installed it from there, with no luck. Does anyone know what else I can do?????

Sorry have to ask. Are you sure you have un-mute all audio source? Double-click on volume control (bottom-right) will show you a complete sound properties.
