My computer froze yesterday so i had to turn it off by holding the power button. When i tried to turn it back on again it shows the dell screen, then the microsoft windows screen where the bars move across, but when it is then supposed to go to the next screen where i usually enter my password, the screen just goes blank - i can see the cursor and nothing else.
Is this a problem that can be fixed? I have had a problem with my hard drive before which involved me having to basically reboot my hard drive which wiped everything off. I would rather avoid having to do this again if possible. Having looked on the net i noticed that other people have had hard drive problems with this model.
Is there any way i can get files off my hard drive even though my computer will not load?
