Hello,
I have an HP laptop that the screen will not turn on. The lights and the fan come on and that's it. Please help, I have stuff on there for the courts.

connect an external monitor to the laptop. turn it on and use the correct function key to switch the display to "CRT/LCD" on my Dell it is Function + F8. If it's the screen that's bad this should allow you to access the data.
