I just recently hooked my DELL 8400 after some Tech said the mother board was fried, cost $50.00, anyway the guy lied, i reinstalled everything and works fine, the only problem is the verizon modem is showing a good connection, but the ethernet connection on the computer is flashing amber and i cannot connect to set up again, it is not seeing it. What is the problem?

Try to unplug the ethernet card and reinsert into other PCI slot, and install correct driver. Feel free to use ping to troubleshoot this network problem too.
