How do I turn on my iPod that died?

Like, how! My iPod Touch ran out of batteries, I tried to charge it within 1 hour, I tried everything, and all pops up is, the iTunes symbol on my screen! And I DO have iTunes. What's going on, dudes o.o||||

all u have to do is plug your nano in the computer then it will start up again
