My computer doesn't acknowledge the USB plug-in of WD Passport Essentail I jusy bought. Tried the "manage" right-click mentioned in discussion & device was not listed - didn't work.

Would greatly appreciate any helpful ideas.

Hi there,

Change the data usb cable and try again.

Hi,
Do you have any other / several items connected to your USB ports?
If yes, It is possible that there is not sufficient power for the WD to detect properly. If not, can you confirm if in the same USB port, a basic USB stick works ok?
